Illustration by Caroline Blunt Over the last 17 years Alison has developed a unique approach with Early Years children, their adults and guest musicians together, considering them to be a truly inspiring combination of people.

Intergenerational activities and guest musicians are two particular features of her work - sessions where parents, carers, grandparents and staff have the opportunity to participate together and sessions in which fabulous guest performers from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds are enabled to share their music and culture with Early Years children and their adults.

Alchemy Early Years works nationally and internationally facilitating workshops, participatory performances and Professional Development Training in Early Years settings, performance venues, community centres, schools, parks, libraries and festivals. Alison is an invited member of LEYMLN (London Early Years Music Leader Network). Fun, imaginative and multicultural, the workshops and participatory performances are full of creative learning opportunities. Sessions aim to spark children’s imagination, develop expressive communication (verbal and non-verbal) and social skills within a supportive and safe environment. A one-off visit or a series of sessions aims to:
Engage children and their adults together in creative activities
Boost confidence and self-esteem
Enhance emotional, mental and physical well-being
Encourage creative movement skills
Increase listening skills
Support language and communication skills
Foster social skills
Nurture musical development
Develop the singing voice
Celebrate a multicultural and traditional song repertoire
Promote creative use of percussion instruments
Inspire creative storytelling Workshops and performances are all informed by a thorough knowledge of the EYFS.
Sessions can be especially designed to support topics, or you can simply enjoy whatever is cooked up for you.
